Bear Stance

BEAR STANCE

There is no left or right to Bear but you can step into Bear with your left or right foot

Whichever foot you step out with, the opposite leg has to slightly bend the knee taking the weight so the other foot can step out to shoulder / hip width apart placing the heel, ball of foot then the toes down transferring the body weight evenly on to both feet, toes pointing forwards, knees loose and slightly bent, keeping the back straight, shoulders relaxed , eyes looking forwards into the near distance.

NOTES

Make sure you think of both feet together while feeling the ball of the big toe, the ball of the little toe and the outside of the heel which are the key points of the foot. If you have difficulty in feeling these points on the sole of the foot just gently rock backwards and forwards until you become aware of the individual contact points, after practising this for a while you will eventually instantly feel these points and be like the Bear strong powerful and decisive.
